The Real Happy Hour Live

In 2017 while attempting to develop an app based on The Real Happy Hour podcast, we embarked on a series of 3-hour live-streamed recordings of the show. The stream was designed to emulate the sound of AM radio from the 70s and 80s, the kind I grew up listening to, primarily AM 890 WLS from Chicago. After recording, the shows were broken up into 15-minute segments and incorporated into a dynamically generated stream within the listening app. While the app development was never completed, a tremendous amount of content to populate it was.

The following audio files are are hour-long compilations of material recreating the way it appeared in the the beta version of the app.

Keep in mind, this content contains numerous references to the abandoned Dial-n-Drink app, so don’t go looking for it! Ignore all the references to URLs, Facebook groups, Slack channels and so on. It has all been scooped up and tossed into the trash bin of history. Nevertheless, I think the entertainment value of the content is unaffected by the glaring absence of its intended venue. Make yourself a drink and enjoy The Real Happy Hour Live!
